Dear Chapel Hill Parent Community,
As we wrap up the final days of the school year, I wanted to take a moment to look back on what has been an incredible journey for me. Completing my first year as your principal has been an absolute honor, and I am filled with overwhelming gratitude for the way this community has welcomed me.
Stepping into a new school always brings a mix of excitement and anticipation, but the warmth, kindness, and unwavering support from the Chapel Hill parents made me feel at home from day one. Whether you volunteered in the classrooms, cheered at school events, or simply supported your child’s learning at home—your partnership has been the backbone of our success this year.
While we are all looking forward to a well-deserved, restful summer break, I am already excited about the future. This first year was about building a foundation and learning the beautiful traditions of Chapel Hill. Next year, I look forward to deepening our collaboration, finding new ways to innovate, and building even stronger partnerships with all of you to ensure our students have everything they need to succeed.
Thank you for trusting me, partnering with me, and making my first year at Chapel Hill Elementary so profoundly memorable.
I wish you and your families a safe, happy, and sun-filled summer!
With deepest gratitude,
Mr. Dan Rigley

Dear Families,
Riding a school bus is an important aspect of your child’s education journey. As part of this journey, Ottawa Student Transportation invites you to attend their First Rider Event held on Sunday, August 23, 2026. All are welcome!
First Rider is a great opportunity for your child(ren) to learn about being safe on their way to and from school. This integrated 45-minute session provides elementary school-age children and their families with the essential skills to navigate their commute safely. Combining hands-on bus training with interactive pedestrian practice, this comprehensive program ensures a confident start to the school year.
For more details and to register, visit OSTA online.
Please now return all library books from home to avoid and replacement fees for lost books.
Has your child missed the school dental screening? Community Dental Screenings are held over the summer at Neighbourhood Health and Wellnes Hubs.
Dental screenings and fluoride varnish applications are free for all ages. Registered dental hygienists can also support clients with the Healthy Smiles Ontario and Ontario Seniors Dental Care Plan enrollments.
